Aggression, Anger, and Hostility Tests

Aggression-related tools can help separate anger, hostility, verbal aggression, and physical aggression into clearer domains. Use results as a starting point for reflection, communication, or professional support when reactions feel hard to manage.

Choosing a tool

Aggression is not a single experience. Buss–Perry distinguishes physical behaviour, verbal behaviour, anger and hostility. This category contains one questionnaire with those four perspectives, rather than several competing tests.

Anger is an emotion; hostility concerns interpretations and expectations; aggression refers to behaviour. Someone may feel intense anger without acting on it, or argue often without physical aggression. Looking at these distinctions helps describe a pattern more precisely.

When reflecting on answers, separate the situation, your feelings, your interpretation and your actions. Empathy tools in the personality category examine responses to others from another angle. A questionnaire score is not a prediction of violence or a label to apply to another person.
